It’s true! It’s not always all about the erlenmeyer flasks and the lab coats! And even when it is, scientists don’t usually have purple fill lights coming from unusual directions as stunning discoveries are made.

    ORNL has one of the biggest magnets in the world for their mass spectrometry lab. The man who is in charge of the magnet is so proud of it that he surrounded it with purple lights. He posed in front while it was lit up when it was featured in an article.
